Flow Doctor
Get a health score for your chatbot, see what's broken or repeated, and create a simplified copy in one click.
Check your chatbot#
Click Flow Doctor at the top of the builder. It checks every step and tells you what can be simpler and what to fix. Nothing changes until you ask it to.
Flow Doctor checks the last saved version. If you just made edits, wait for Saved and click Check again.
The health score#
At the top you get a Health score out of 100 and a grade:
| Grade | What it means |
|---|---|
| Healthy | Clean flow, little or nothing to do. |
| Could be simpler | It works, but some parts repeat or could be shorter. |
| Needs work | Customers may get stuck, or the flow is much bigger than it needs to be. |
Under the score, a line like 48 steps. About 12 could go with the features below. tells you how much smaller the chatbot could be. A chatbot with nothing to fix shows Nothing to simplify.
Findings#
Findings are grouped by impact: Biggest wins, Worth doing, Small improvements and Warnings. Each one says what it found and how many steps it affects. Click Show steps (or Go to step) to see them on the canvas.
Things Flow Doctor looks for:
| Finding | What to do |
|---|---|
| Answers that lead nowhere | A question has an answer that isn't connected, so customers who pick it get stuck. Connect it to a step. |
| Steps nothing leads to | Steps that can't be reached from the start, a catch hook or a power word. Connect them or remove them. |
| HTTP steps without an error path | If the call fails, the conversation stops. Connect the step's Error output to a message or a notification. |
| Many filters checking one value | A chain of Filter steps on the same variable. One Switch step does the same job. |
| HTTP steps used only to save values | A Set variables step does the same without a web call. |
| The same branch copied in several places | Put it in a brick and reuse it. |
| Back-to-menu steps everywhere | The Main menu setting does this for every step. |
| Human handoff through a link or keyword | A Talk to a person step keeps the conversation in Officely. |
| Power words that differ only by capital letters | Matching ignores case, so keep one of each. |
Findings marked Automatic fix can be applied for you (next section). Some are marked Coming soon: they point to features that are still on the way.
