Steps
Jump
Continue the chat from another step, without drawing a long connection across the canvas.
What it does#
Jump sends the chat to another step of your chatbot, as if there were a connection to it. The customer doesn't see anything from the Jump step itself: the next thing they get is the step you jump to.
Use it for back to menu at the end of each branch, to reuse a part of the flow (for example one collect details part used by several branches), or to keep the canvas tidy instead of drawing long lines.
Add a Jump#
- 1
Drag Jump onto the canvas
It's under Tools in the step list.
- 2
Connect into it
Connect the step (or the option, button or keyword) that should lead to the jump.
- 3
Choose the target
Click the Jump step. Under Jump to, pick the step by its name from the list.
- 4
Check it
On the canvas the Jump card shows the target's name. Click Jump on the card to move the canvas to that step.
Example#
A store's chatbot has five branches: Track order, Returns, Prices, Branches and Contact. Each branch ends with an Options step: Anything else? with Back to menu and No, thanks. Every Back to menu connects to its own small Jump step that jumps to main_menu. The canvas stays clean, and the customer gets the menu again.

Common mistakes#
- The target isn't in the list. Only steps with a name appear. Give the step a name first.
- No target chosen. A Jump without a target sends the customer back to the start of the chatbot. The step shows Connect a step into this one and choose the step to jump to until it's set.
- Deleting the target. Renaming the step you jump to is fine, but if you delete it, choose a new target. Check your Jump steps after big changes.
- A loop with no way out. Jumping back to a step that leads straight back to the same Jump makes the bot repeat itself. Make sure each loop waits for an answer from the customer.
- Using Jump to go back to the main menu from anywhere. For a word customers can send at any time, use a Key Words step instead.
